Liam had worked five hours straight, and only had a forty five minute break for lunch. Grabbing the sandwich and drink that he had made himself he stopped by the closest table to the door, this was known as his spot. Each day he sat in the same spot at the same table, surprisingly he had not wrote his name there yet. As he chewed his sandwich he watched out the window beside himself, it had gotten so busy this evening.. Of course it would be busy, it was Friday night. Students and adults alike enjoyed the dots food and beverages.
Glancing back in he looked over the counter and watched the others, a rush of people had just entered and they were currently swamped. Grumbling to himself he gathered his items and walked behind the counter, talking to his boss he spoke with a chuckle, "You can repay me for this later, but no way im gonna leave you hanging!" He then quickly began taking orders from everyone, smiling and enjoying his job.. even if it was a tad bit tedious sometimes.

The Dot. It had to be the most important place to the high school. She'd heard about it so many times, but this is the first time she'd ever found it. She made a wrong turn on her walk home (it was dark at this hour at night) and she spotted the name of the cafe at the corner of the street ahead. It was worth a stop, it was friday after all. She might as well do something fun. She walked in right away, prepared to find a place to leave her backpack and then get something to drink. Turns out Friday was one of their busiest days because she couldn't find a seat in the place empty. She headed straight for the line instead, prepared to grab a coffee or something and just head out to her walk again but she saw a seat nearest the counter and just sat herself there. She would give her father one more hour to pick her up from The Dot instead. She couldn't believe he still hadn't left work.
Lilly figured she could order whatever she recognized on the board hanging on the wall behind the counter but the list was so new to her and it was her turn to order far too early to make a decision. Eventually when she got to it, she just chickened out and decided to order something simple. "I'll have a.....water. And one of those," she pointed at the nearest pastry on a tray of baked goods on the counter. "Whatever those are," she rambled. It was shaped like a muffin, looked like a muffin. She could only hope it was one because she was starving. She didn't like new places much. They intimidated her. One change in location and she felt like it was a whole new world. "Is this place usually so crowded?" she couldn't help asking randomly. She thought it'd be a really quiet cafe but it seemed like most of the school crammed it self in the small building. She hated how tough it was adjusting, it seemed like every uncomfortable thing around her gave her a headache.

Liam had already shifted through a ton of people before this one walked up and sat at the bar. Smiling as she ordered he spoke softly, "Certainly, might I suggest the burgers tonight.. Certainly one of the most popular, and the fries are simply to die for as well." He flashed her his best smile, as he punched in her order so far to the cash register.
As he waited for her to respond he glanced at her a bit, not too much to offend her of course. He was sure that she was a student, but not one that had been here before. Most certainly not after she spoke next, he chuckled a bit before speaking again, "Most days it is like this at night, However friday usually is the busiest. Being it that the adults get paid, and so do their spoiled children." He smirked and waved a hand before speaking again, "Not that I meant that directed to everyone in here.. Some of them, us, actually work for a living." He then went back to his usual smirk.

Burgers and fries, the two greasiest foods at the place probably, but the most filling. Lilly had no choice but to want it since it was most likely her dinner for the day. "I'll have the fries," Lilly replied, smiling although she felt guilty for it. She didn't even have dance classes to work off the junk food but she supposed one day couldn't hurt.
Lilly mimicked his smile before looking around at the kids currently there. She recognized a few from class, but nobody there was someone she felt she could go talk to. It seemed like this one be another lunch, she'd just eat quietly and leave. Lilly couldn't help but laugh at what the boy behind the counter said. She, herself, didn't have a job. She'd never worked a day in her life but that wasn't because she got everything she asked for. All she really needed money for was necessities and classes. Her father gave her cash for times like this, but she barely ever used it because some times they'd be in a tough spot where they didn't have money to spare.
"That is a very good point." She chuckled again about her first statement. "And you're right some people actually earn their own money. I wish I could say I'm one of them. My father doesn't want me to get a job," she rambled. Shaking her head and chuckling once, Lilly got back on track. "I'm Lilly. I'm assuming you go to Degrassi."

Liam walked back with the list of orders and hollered out over the ledge, "Got a bunch for you pal, Hope you got enough food for all these hungry people." He chuckled a bit and what was retorted wouldnt be heard over the clanging of pans, but Liam was already walking away. Glancing back to the girl he moved to her and spoke again, "I didn't mean no harm in what I said moments ago." He pulled his own 'lunch' above the counter and began eating it as he waited for orders.
It only took him a few minutes to finish his meal standing, and then the meals were finished. He flashed the girl a smile and spoke to her as he passed, hands full of trays, "I will be right back, and then hopefully I can find a moment to relax." His chuckle was obvious as he walked away, already talking to customers and delivering meals as if he had been doing it for years now.
As he finished delivering all of the food he finally stopped by the girl again, leaning down and placing her food over the counter as he spoke softly, "The name is Liam, and I do believe we are in the same classes even." He flashed her a smile and then leaned back, grabbing for his drink and drinking a few sips before hiding it from view again.

Lilly smiled before reaching into her backpack for her phone. She kept staring at the screen willing for her father to call her. She was hoping that at the very least he hadn't completely forgotten to pick her up. It wouldn't be the first or the last time. Pouting, she looked at the ground before turning back up as the boy behind the counter stole her attention again. She tried to smile as he clarified what he had said. She quirked her eyebrows at him before waving her hand as if to say she had already let it go.
"Oh no, I know. It was funny...and true," she chuckled once again. "No harm done." Lilly went back to staring at her phone before she put it on the counter when he spoke again. She just put on a smile again despite how sad and slightly worried she was. "Here's hoping," she answered him kindly with a warm smile on her face. She propped her elbows on the bar when he left, resting her head on top of her fists. She went back to worrying over her father. The brunette had to resist the urge to call him. She didn't want him to be on the phone while he was working.
The girl's frown only left as the boy came back and introduced himself to her. She could only grin as she answered. "Then I'm really sorry that I'm not good with remembering faces, Liam," she replied. She couldn't remember him from her classes but she decided that was probably because she didn't pay much mind to her classmates. She started eating, and once she did she realized how hungry she was, taking only a few minutes to finish. She wasn't used to eating so much so fast and felt she should stop but she didn't mind. "Can I have a coffee?" she asked Liam with a smile before finishing her water. The only food she had left was the muffin she'd really only ordered for the hell of it.
