Personality: Hazel is similar to her sister Emily, although where Emily takes everything one or two steps too far, Hazel still clings to that innocence that comes with only being in grade ten. She's very happy and outgoing, often seen in the halls dancing and singing to whatever is blasting in her iPod. Hazel wants to fit in so desperately, often attempting to get in with the 'in crowd' only to be pushed away because of who her sister is, or because of how she looks. Where Emily's the rebel, Hazel's the sweetheart, often looking out for her older twin and trying to actually get somewhere in Degrassi.
Overall Appearance: The first thing you'll notice when you meet the Compton twins is that they're blue-haired. It's easy to pick them out in a crowd. Hazel has made it easy for people to tell them apart by keeping her hair one color. There's also something that Hazel's been keeping from everyone; she's steadily going blind. She wears special colored contacts to keep people from seeing the milky white spreading over her eyes, and has recently began to wear very dark sunglasses outside. Because of this, Hazel is often with her sister in the hallways, being led to her classes.

History: Hazel was sort of the 'other twin' the moment she arrived in the world. But, it was good because it gave their parents a child to pin their hopes and dreams onto. Struggling in math and science, yet almost excelling in art and english, the Compton parents knew that they were homing lost causes. Hazel started dying her hair blue to show who she was; she was careless and fun, and she wanted to live life as fast and as greatly as she could. She and Emily were the best of friends growing up, and to this day they still are. Then last year she was diagnosed with a serious eye infection; it rapidly turned into something they couldn't fix, causing long term blindness.
