She had come to cheer practice late, just in time to see Diana, her cheer captain walking off with her ex boyfriend the other day. Kylet had stewed over it all night and today she was furious. All day she was trying to get it out of her head and when practice finally came, she glanced over at the soccer field seeing Matt taking the field by storm like he always had. Kylet tried to ignore it and she managed for most of practice as she helped her girls learn the moves and assisted when they had trouble, though Diana seemed so into herself and busting everyone else's asses Kylet bit her tongue and just helped the other's when they asked. But by the end of practice as they headed to the locker rooms, her eyes flitted over where the boys were jogging into their locker room. At this Kylet finally parted from the girls and she without any care in the world stormed right into that locker room hearing some guys whistle as she looked around for him and waltzed right up to Matt, her hand finding his chest in an instant as she gently pushed him up against the lockers. She could hear the soccer boys chuckling, some whistling, others were murmuring vulgarities and calling her a slut but she ignored it as her eyes finally met Matt's a slight saddened look in her eyes but she shook the saddened look off her face and it became angered. "What is wrong with you?" she said as she pushed her hand harder against his chest. "I can't even begin to imagine what you did with that girl, walking off the field like that with her the other day? Didn't think I saw did you?"

Matt had spent his evening practicing on the soccer field, he was the goalie and he spent his time watching his team mates scrimmage. He himself had a line of boys trying to maneuver the ball past him and with most he blocked. Matt enjoyed soccer, it was such a good workout, so much better then football in his own opinion. Matt played soccer ever since he was a young child never leaving the goal post. Nor did he plan to. When the sun started to set he called the team in. "Great practice guys, can't wait for the game tomorrow." Matt congratulated then dismissed the team. He walked over to the locker room walking in going to his locker, grabbing some hygiene products then to the shower, he washed his body and his hair and then got out. Matt wrapped his towel around his waist and walked back to his locker, he looked at the small mirror and smiled taking out his hair gel but was soon spun around. He looked down at Kylet and listened to her words. "What's wrong with me? Well...I could give you an extensive list but lets skip that and get to why your here." Matt said as he felt his back his the locker a bit harder this time, he looked around at the guys that chuckled commenting on the situation then his eye twitched a bit out of anger. When Ky started to explain he licked his lips and looked into her eyes narrowing his own and before she could shove him again he grabbed both of her hands and spun her around pinning her arms above her head and her back hard up against the lockers. He put his body against hers before speaking "I didn't think you saw? Or was it the fact I didn't give a shit if you did see?" Matt said heartless, his own inner feeling causing him to be numb to Kylet at this point. "But I see your in the male locker room, even though your used to this place. You not welcomed." Matt growled feeling his rage kicking in. He let go of her hands and went back to his locker putting on his boxers and his basketball shorts. Matt draped his muscle shirt over his shoulder and slid his feet into his Adidas slide on sandals. Then he walked out of the locker room, knowing she'd trail. Matt walked right outside and started toward the parking lot looking at his car. He walked to his sliding the key in, yet knowing Kylet wasn't finished with what she was doing he slowly opened his door waiting for her to catch up. Part of him was addicted to arguing and making up with this girl, the other half numb and cold to her.

When he spun her around and pressed his body up against her's she couldn't help but smirk even if the words that lingered from his lips came off harsh and inconsiderate. She bit her bottom lip and she pushed her chest against his before he let her go. "I'm only used to it in here because of you baby, didn't you know? Or did you forget after that homecoming game last year?" she asked watching him walk out. She ignored every eye that was on her as she stormed after him, her tennis shoes squeaking against the tiled floor of the hall briefly before she made it out the door and made her way to the parking lot where she saw him. She rushed over, her cheer skirt blowing slightly in the breeze and when she made it to him, she took her hand and slammed his car door shut before he could even move. She kept her hand on his door and she looked right into his eyes before she manuevered her other hand to his opposite side and she had him against his car now. "Why run? Why play this cat and mouse game with me?" she asked as she gave him her big brown puppy dog eyes. She skimmed her bottom lip with her teeth as she tilted her head and she briefly glanced down before returning her eyes to his. "Why don't you believe me? 3 and a half years Matt and you don't believe me?" she said as she finally stepped back and dropped her hands from his car before she pushed her hair from her face, "I just don't get it," she muttered.

Though her words were true, he couldn't take being called Baby, not like that. Then she blurred out his business and he blushed a bit. Homecoming, the night he lost his virginity, and what a night it was. He wouldn't just back down like that. Matt felt himself being back up against the car and he looked down into her brown eyes with his own gold ones and he chewed the inside of his cheek listening to her voice. How hurt she was, he could tell. Three and a half years was a long time, a very long time at that and his own guilt and insecurities wouldn't allow him to tell her. Yet letting her believe it was her own fault made everything easier even though he knew it was wrong. "Ky I just, can't...I can't believe you." Matt explained pushing her away from him. At times he got physical with women when he was upset and this was a sign he was hurting as well. Matt felt himself crouch to and he put his fingers through his hair, trying to calm himself. He wanted to cry, he wanted to tell the truth but getting angry and pushing her away was better wasn't it? "I don't like to play games with you, I hate flushing our 3 and a half years. Honest I do..I just can't believe you.." Matt said his words broken with sorrow as his year was at this point.

She watched as he crouched down and he ran his hand through his hair. She allowed a soft sigh to escape her lips as she crouched down in front of him and she hesitantly reached out and placed her hand on his knee. "I'm..I..I want to say sorry but I don't know what I'm apologizing for, since I didn't do anything wrong.." she said honestly. She tried to catch his gaze but when she couldn't she glanced down and let her red hair topple into her face. She chewed the inside of her cheek as she dropped her hand from his knee, "Would it be easier if I leave?" she asked him as she raised an eyebrow at him, her words came out so saddened at the thought that he would want that of her.She got to her feet now and she looked down at him, "I wish you knew...how to believe in me..cus I believe in you every time I think wrong of you, I turn it around because I know you have reasoning for anything you do, and you can never truly be wrong in my eyes, I'm sorry I seem like such a fuck up to you" she said before she took a deep breath and she turned her back to him and slowly began to walk toward the school, her head hung as she sighed.

Matt looked at her tiny hand on his knee and he felt a smile cross his lips and it soon faded with her words. Matt looked up and let his eyes meet hers, this was wrong. Abbie wouldn't have it, and neither could he. He loved Kylet, a lot but allowing her to think so down. So negative about... and then her hand was gone, he watched her get up and he pushed himself to his feet and ran after her, though she didn't make it far. Matt shook his head, now standing in front of her. He took his hand and brought it her her chin lifting her eyes to meet his. With his free hand he moved her hair from her face. It was time... "Ky, I don't believe you because that's what I want myself to believe. I know you wouldn't cheat on me but I figured if I let you take all the blame for the break up it would spare the feelings I have. The ones I can't deal with." Matt said feeling cruel now. He took a breath and looked deeper into her eyes. "You can't see me as wrong, well this wont be one of those times." Matt said as he wrapped his arms around her one last time. He hugged her close like he always did and then he pushed himself away keeping eye contact. "I did it. When I told you I stopped taking those pain killers and drinking, I didn't. I wanted the high so bad and I'd do anything for it.." Matt admitted feeling his lip quiver a bit as goosebumps appeared on his arms. "I couldn't get them at a party one night, and I thought well this chick had them so. I could just get high with her. Shit went down, I well..you can figure out the rest." Matt said speeding though his confession. "I never meant for it to happen...it just did and it was easy cause I found a way to blame you since I heard the rumors. But I never once believed them." Matt said looking down at his own feel, sick to his stomach. He was wearing his heart on his sleeve. The only thing he could do at this point. "I'm sorry, your not the fuck up...I am and I've known it all along." Matt said walking away leaving her with that sad look, but he couldn't take it anymore. He reached his car and let himself in not closing the door letting his forehead rest on the steering wheel for now, in an attempt to calm his thoughts.

He stopped her and when she heard his voice, her eyes looked up and as his arms slid arround her small figure she hugged him tight not wanting to let go, but he pulled away and she looked at him. He spoke, words she never expected and as he continued on with his words, her eyes slowly began to brim with tears but she fought them back, she wouldn't cry, no. She waited for him to finish and she didn'at know what to do as he walked away. She looked over her shoulder back at his car where he sat, the door wide open and she debated to herself, she still...couldn't see him as wrong. Though it hurt and she let the tears finally leave her eyes, she couldn't walk away. She turned and slowly walked back to his car. She got in on the passenger side and she looked down into her lap fiddling with her hands as she took in a few breaths allowing the silence to engulf them before she finally cleared her throat. "I..forgive you" she said her voice soft, most would think her stupid and foolish for saying such a thing. "I love you Matt...and I don't want to lose you.." she glanced up at him with her glossy eyes and she chewed her bottom lip before she reached over allowing a hand to run through his hair, "Please..just..please.." she stammered as she dropped her hand, "Take me back.." she whispered.

And Although he was tough, and he could handle everything he found himself tearing up. Matt sniffed a little trying to regain his composure but nothing was holding him back from crying at this point. Then a breeze filled the car and he looked over at Kylet, her wet eyes caused him to look away and wipe his own tears. She shouldn't be the one giving him sympathy for what he had done. But he took in her words. Matt's eyebrow perked up and he looked over to her with a look of disbelief. How could she just forgive him, after putting her though what he did. He probably gave the poor girl depression for the past month. Matt chewed the inside of his cheek for a moment and when she said I love you a smile crossed his lips and he leaned back letting his chair set back real low. Matt looked at the ceiling. "I love you too..just I'm not sure how I can go on with accepting you back. Nor should you be the one asking me.." Matt admitted looking over at her he reached over pulling her on the drivers side and laid back with her on his chest and he looked into her eyes wiping away any excess tears. "You know, I've tried so hard to push you away, and now that your so close it feels right..in a weird way." Matt teased trying to lighten up the situation. If he let it eat at him, they would get no where and he'd be driving her home. Matt found himself playing with her hair and he giggled to himself. "Yeah, I remember homecoming, the night I found out you were not a 'real' read head. The night you made me the happiest I think I've ever been." Matt said putting his nose on hers, he could feel himself wanting to kiss her, wanting just her. His body ached for her, but he also found himself avoiding the question. Maybe he wasn't ready, or maybe he needed to be further convinced on what she expected and wanted from him.

She was pulled ontop of him and she shifted so that she sat on him and she placed her small hands against his chest and she looked down into his eyes as he spoke. She tilted her head and she chuckled at his comment about homecoming but when he didn't answer her, her eyebrows furrowed and she shook her head. "I don't care if you should be the one asking or apologizing, I am asking because I am and you take it or you leave it mister" she said as she now folded her arms over her chest and she sighed. She glanced down for a moment before looking down into his eyes, she understood that there was probably a guilt factor eating away at him but at the same time...what if he just didn't want her back? She shook the thought away as she pulled her eyes from his and glanced down at his stomach, "I.. unless you don't want me that is.." she whispered as a pout played upon her lips and she unfolded her arms and reached up twirling a lock of hair around her finger. She sighed and could feel her heart slowly breaking at her own mixed up thoughts. She absent mindedly dropped her hands back to his chest and let her fingertips trace circles on his chest as she glanced out the window, "I wish I knew what you wanted from me..it'd make this a lot easier" she said softly.

Matt knew Ky's negative way of thinking, and her thoughts that raced similar to his at times. Matt shook his head, what she was saying wasn't what he meant. Nor what he felt. "I didn't say I didn't want you. I never said it bothered me to walk you to all your classes, never said things would be easy, never said your smile doesn't make my life complete, and when I wake up next to you isn't want I want in my future. If I ever said any of that I'd be lying." Matt explained giving her scenarios he treasured. When looking into Ky's eyes he could be Matt, not the Matt that was made to change. Not the Matt that didn't get in trouble with the law. He was himself and she brought out the best in him, so he wasn't anything bad. "I love you, I just don't know because I'm scared I might screw it up. I'm scared for this.." Matt said placing his own hand on her chest, he could feel her heart beating under his hand. "I can't Ky I am still on those pills, I still am Matt. I try to stay away and occupy my time, but trouble always finds me. Then when it does...3 and a half years down the drain." Matt said scared for Ky. He liked to party and he loved to drink, and feel high not saying Ky wasn't worth giving all that up but he just recently started to attend school on a regular, he started to avoid fighting. Matt wasn't sure where things could end up, but she always found ways to look at him that reassured him she'd love him. "Come to my house, we can cuddle talk more?" Matt asked and he shifted Ky back into her seat and didn't give her the chance to deny his invitation. Matt started his car and drove directly to his house. The sky was almost black but he didn't care. He parked the car and got out opening the door for Ky and he lead her into the house. When his mother questioned him, he got irritated and put his hand up silencing her. Matt lead Ky up to his room, and closed the door locking it. Matt took off his shoes and walked over to his bed sitting down. There was nothing she really hadn't seen before just some new martial arts trophies. "I want to know what has been happening the last month with you, I miss talking to you. Can you not worry about the answer to the question and just love me..." Matt asked raising his eyebrow. His mind was all over the place, he was doing way too much thinking.

Kylet didn't answer she just let him drive to his house and when they got there she followed him inside and lightly waved to his parents before she followed him up to his room. When he walked over to his bed and sat down, she took a moment to glance around the familiar room she had spent countless snuck in nights laying with him. She chewed the inside of her cheek before she walked over to him and she sat down. She waited a moment before she lie back and she grabbed his hand and pulled him down to lay with her, she pulled him so he was lying with his head resting on her chest and she wrapped an arm around him as she burried her face in his hair. She sighed softly as she listened to him breathing for just a moment before she answered him ,"Cheer...photography, homework, nothing has changed really all I have been doing since the break up is distracting myself with everything I possibly can...hell it doesn't work though, you still are stuck in my head no matter how many distractions I try to find" she said in all honesty. She reached up and ran her fingers through his hair to soothe him and she closed her eyes taking in his scent and just the feel of his body close to her's. "I missed you" she whispered softly not sure what else to say to him as she held him closer.

It was just so natural for her to set up and take control of the situation, he allowed her to pull him on her chest and he listened to her heart beat while she explained what she had been going through. The rhythm of her heart was so perfect, he remembered nights where he'd fly off the handle and fight, the nights he cried in front of her struggling through addiction, and through it all Ky always had a spot for him in her heart and he knew it. Matt chewed the inside of his cheek looking up at her smiling he looked at her neck and trailed it with kisses bringing his lips to her ear. "I missed you more." Matt whispered kissing her earlobe. This was not to be mistaken for intimate intentions. Matt just wanted to love on her, the way he used to. The way it was before he started pushing her away. "Ky, you thing I screwed up too much to fix us, I mean. I love you, it's just hard for me knowing I can hurt you at any given moment." Matt said as he put a pout on his lip, he thought for a moment. Though he knew that she wanted him back all along he was scared for her. But it was Matt and Ky against the world, there was nothing they couldn't do right? "I didn't mean to push you away. Didn't mean to stain your pillow with tears. Not one single tear baby." Matt said looking into her eyes, he was always getting lost in those dark brown eyes as if they consumed his heart and soul. "I want you to spend the night, fuck what my mother says." Matt said he couldn't just have half the love effect with Ky, he needed the full experience. "Unless you don't want to...I mean we could cuddle watch a romantic movie, I could cook for you." Matt said, he was only cute and cheesy for this girl. No other one had needed to see this side. Yeah sure someone saw his sexual, or his flirty side but only Ky knew he could be adorable. "What do you say my love?" Matt asked giving her his adoring heart melting smile as he rested on his head on his hand.

She continued to play with his hair absently as she closed her eyes and let out a soft sigh at the feel of his kisses along her skin. She had half the nerve to tell him no, tell him he was only getting her hopes up and for what reason? She didn't though, instead she opened her eyes and looked down at him kissing his forehead lightly,"Of course I'll stay with you Matty baby, you know I can't deny your cooking and being in your arms" she said softly. She sat up now and yanked him up with her as she leaned against him slightly,"What ya gonna cook me?" she asked him grinning and kissing his cheek as she batted her eyelashes playfully. She rested her forehead against his for a moment before she brought her lips to his kissing him briefly,"I love you Matt, and trust me you haven't ruined fixing us ever, fixing us is always an option" she whispered to him.

This girl knew better then to deny his cooking in his own opinion he was better the Martha Steward. Matt laughed at his inner thoughts and wrapped his arms around Kylet. He looked into her eyes and brought his lips to hers and kissed her passionately before standing up walking with her to the kitchen. Matt reached for Ky's tiny waist and lifted her up placing her on the counter. "I am making steak and salad." Matt said like he knew more then that off short notice. Matt walked to the fridge and grabbed the steak opening it and washing it. "This will be the best food you have ever ate, and I don't want to hear once I get done. Matty I'm not hungry. That ain't flying." Matt said laughing to himself, he seasoned the steak and put it under the broiler. "Now for your favorite part." Matt said walking to the fridge gather salad supplies. He mixed some veggies together in a big bowl and walked over to the broiler and flipped the steak. Matt figured the steak would need a while longer so he walked up to Ky and stood in between her legs wrapping his arms around her. "I love you too, fixing us is not an option, its a promise." Matt vowed looking into her eyes. There were things he wanted to know about her as well, he knew he fucked up over their break but he wanted to know about her and what happened. "So, how did you get over me in you know this way?" Matt asked spreading her legs looking into her eyes, Matt could read her guilt thought they were not together he could list and admit to everything he had done could Ky? "I mean, if you have no skeletons, then my bad for over thinking." Matt said walking away to the fridge where he grabbed them each a beer he topped the tops and slid her one and took a long drink of his own before walking over hopping up on the counter and sitting with her.

She followed him to the kitchen and she grinned and giggled when he lifted her onto the counter,"Are you kidding? I could never deny your cooking, I'd eat and eat even if I was full" she said giggling with a smile. She watched him set up the salad and her mouth watered at the smell of the steak sizzling. At his question she glanced down knowing now would be confession hour...would he hate her for it? Would he understand? Who knew really. She chewed the inside of her cheek and sipped on the drink he gave her,"Noah...I uh...he and I spent a lot of time together...we had a small fling but I was hurting Matt," she said as she glanced up at him now praying he wouldn't lash out too bad, she was sure he wasn't fully innocent during their break up. She sighed and hopped off the counter walking over and grabbing a cucumber from the salad, nibbling on it. She looked over her shoulder at him,"That's it Matt, only him, I am being 100 percent honest with you" she told him as she looked into his eyes,"But I want to fix us, this is why I'm honest with you I don't lie to you because you mean everything to me" she said softly.
