Fear Comes&Goes-Katie

He looked at her and he pushed some of her hair behind her ear before he looked up and down the halls for a moment. He had no desire to be here right now. He dropped his hand and took hers in his and intertwined his fingers with hers. "Lets get out of here? What do you say? I mean I know your the class president and all, but there's no way in hell you'll be able to function properly through the rest of your classes," he said as he led her toward the doors. He led her outside and toward his car where he opened the passenger side door for her before he got in on the driver side. He just sat there for a moment in thought,"Where do you want to go, anywhere your heart desires and I'll take you there Miss Matlin,'

[/color] he said as he cocked his head toward her and offered her his signature heart melting smile as he stuck his keys in the ignition.[/center]

[Katie Matlin]

She smiled and slid her hand into his intertwining their fingers and when he asked her to leave school she bit her bottom lip looking into his eyes. "Only because your so damn cute and right, I'm not going to be able to focus and I'd rather spend time with you anyways." Katie said walking out the building. She walked to his car and smiled when he opened the door, she loved that he was a gentleman. "Thank you Mister Ricci." She said getting in and when he joined her she thought for a moment about announcements. Katie pulled out her phone telling Mirasol to do them, she was vice president after all. She also text her, the news about her and Ryder and she knew they were both squeaking somehow. She cleared her throat and smiled at Ryder. "How about the lake, away from drama, maybe make out to the sunset you know that romantic stuff, I'd like to get to know more about my boyfriend and the things he likes, the things that make him happy." Katie teasingly suggested. She liked the outdoors it was more her style then to go to the mall or something like that. When Ryder started to drive she smiled and rolled down the window. When they arrived she got out the car and walked over to him sliding her hand into his as she walked through the woods down the path to the lake. She walked to the water side and sat down in the sand looking up at him petting the spot beside her.

The lake sounded decent enough so he pulled out of the parking lot scowling seeing the other trio walking out of the school and then he headed in the direction of the lake. When they got there he got out of the car and opened the door for her once more and found her hand in his soon enough. He smiled and followed her through the trees,"What do you want to know? Come on Katie, spitfire questions my way and I'll answer anything you want to know,"

[/color] he said as they reached the water and he reached down and took off his shoes holding them in his free hand as he walked barefoot by the lake's edge hand in hand with her. "I want to know about what makes Katie happy and how she is such an amazing person,"[/color] he added as he looked to her and he smiled softly, she looked gorgeous even with her eyes puffy from earlier crying and her hair a mess, she still looked perfect.[/center]

Katie stood up and took her shoes off as well holding them in her free hand and she intertwined her fingers with his and leaned on him a bit. She didn't what know what she wanted to know about him, she knew a couple things about just being his friend but the way he reacted to certain things must have held some kind of story. The sand squished between her toes was she walked looking at the baby ducks swimming on the lake. She pointed them out to Ryder. "Things like that make me happy, simple things, accomplishments make me happy, having control over most situations makes me happy." Katie admitted she wouldn't be the class president if she didn't like control, and just like Drew she had anger issues at one point and learn to take control over those emotions. Katie was a bit more complex and imperfect at times but she always valued what she had. She looked up at Ryder and smiled. "I can share control with special people though, don't get me wrong, I've just been through as must as the next person and in everyone's eyes, I have to be perfect when I'm really not." She admitted stopping him and looking up she had her question now. "I want to know why Ryder is the way he is, why he considers himself an asshole, what hurts him, and how to fix what does." Katie said wrapping her arms around his waist just looking up hoping she'd get some kind of answer. She might have looked like crap but with him, she didn't feel like crap and if she still looked good in his eyes and had her own perspective on herself who the hell elses opinion mattered?

He listened to her and he sat down and pulled his knees to his chest not feeling like walking further when she asked him questions now. He looked at the water and the ducks and he let her questions sink in. Why was he an ass? Simple really..."I've had a rocky past, I've been used by girls, I've been put up on pedastals too high to climb down from..." he said as he looked at her halfly before looking back at the water. "My dad isn't the greatest guy, hence why Lilli is so fucked in her head...but I don't help her any,"

[/color] he added, he did feel guilt to how Lilli was treated by himself and his father. "I'm not a good brother, an even worse friend by having anger and jealousy issues, and I'm not exactly the best boyfriend, well I wasn't because I used to be a player honestly, but Katie...something about you makes me not want to be a bad person at least in relationships,"[/color] he admitted as he looked down now shook his head telling himself he was horrible, he did think highly of himself most of the time, but Katie made him dig deep inside of himself sometimes and re-evaluate his ego and pride.[/center]

Katie listened, and when he talked about the pedestals she understood what that meant and she licked her lips and put her hand on his bicep. When he spoke of his little sister she shook her head, she had sat in on some cheer practices and she had saw a couple fights that included miss Lilli. "You ever think your not to blame for what happens to another person, you say your dad isn't great, well don't be like him and treat her the way he does. Lilli is stronger then you know because of her past, though things may not seem that way she's learned from everything and became strong." Katie said she wouldn't let himself beat himself up for his acts of aggression, she didn't quite know how their father treated them, or the life style he lead but someday she'd be fully aware, just like she was with Drew. At the word player she looked down, another one, but she let that thought slip away and she traced her toe in the sand and looked at the heart she was tracing and smiled. "Your not a bad friend, you wouldn't be here if you were a bad friend, and your going to be an amazing boyfriend." Katie said smiling and she reached up and grabbed his chin making him look at the heart she had traced with their initials. "See not a bad person, not an ass a misunderstood boy that I will get to know and love and have future with." Katie said wrapping her arms around him resting her head on his chest listening to his heart beat she was glad he wanted to be something different for her. "Little sisters, I haven't set the best examples for mine either, come on rehab and she is always trying to push herself too far because I made the mark high, but I guess that's because I've set that kind of example." Katie said changing the subject she didn't want him to get down, not today there was enough of that today. She looked into his eyes and then to the water and smiled. Why the hell not? She thought lifting her uniform shirt over her head folding it then she took off her skirt and placed her clothes on the dry sand walking into the water cautiously. She could feel the goose bumps raise on her pale skin as she went in knee deep. Her blue eyes sparkled because of the water, looking over her shoulder in her white, pink poka-dotted bra and panties. "You coming Ry, or you scared of the fisheies?" Katie teased as she back up into the water a bit more biting her bottom lip.

She spoke so logically as he took it all in for a moment and when she grabbed his face, he had to remind himself who was touching him, he almost reacted but he unclenched his fist and a smile creased his lips at the sight of her little drawing in the sand. "Future talk already Miss Matlin? I kind of like that...you look for forever in somebody, thats nice to know" he said, he'd never had girls really try and tell him that he was future material, simply just the here and the now. He couldn't help but smile and let out a soft chuckle at how adorable she was being and his own thoughts at the moment.

He reached down with his finger and he traced a second heart around her's and he looked at her,"I'm glad you believe in me and I'm hoping that within myself, that will be just enough...I think it will be though," he said as he grinned and winked at her. He watched her get to her feet and strip down and he couldn't help but scan her entire body with his eyes, so many thoughts racing in his head but he pushed them back as he slowly got to his feet. He observed her movements and her expressions that crossed her face. He couldn't help but think of how perfect she seemed to be, how perfect she seemed to think he could be... Her words finally touched his ears and he looked at her raising an eyebrow as he kicked off his jeans and pulled off his shirt.

"Scared of the fishies? I ain't scared of no fishies Matlin, you should be scared of the shark that's about to get you," he teased as he walked over to the water and he made his way over to her before he tackled her, grabbing her tight around her waist and lifting her up spinning her around before he fell back into the water with her, he laughed as he held her close, her back pressed up against his chest and he brought his lips to her ear,"Thanks for believing in me Katie..." he whispered softly before he turned her around in his arms and kissed her deeply.

Her eyes sparkled due to the waters reflection. When he stared to strip a warm pink color touched her cheeks. Katie listened him talk about the fishies and smirked then he mentioned a shark and her intellect kicked in and she looked around the water for a second. "Ry were in fresh wate.." SPLASH! She heard the water coming closer and she braced herself listed into the air. Katie laughed and his skin was warm on her back, though the water was cold Katie bit her bottom lip, and when turned around she kissed him, her tongue dancing around his his mouth with passion, she brought her hand to his cheek kissing him til she was out of breath and when the kiss was ended she was left with a skip in her heart and a smile on her face. It took her a while to come back to reality but when she did she spoke. "I'll always believe in you, even if no one does, I'll stay by your side and be there as long as you let me." Katie said, her words so honest. She wanted this one, this boy was perfect and she'd show him a more and more how perfect he was.

Katie looked into his dark eyes and leaned down kissing his nose. A smile appeared on her face and she reached up running her fingers through his wet hair spiking it a bit. He had so clue how gorgeous he was, and not to mention his build, was much more muscular then Drew's. With Ryder she knew she'd always be safe, knew someday something great would be of this. She always thought of her future, always thought of what could be and kept her mind positive through all her goals, and thoughts. "You got a beautiful smile, and eyes that make me wonder about you Ryder, your so handsome and perfect. How does a girl like me get this lucky?" Katie said pecking his nose again, she giggled a bit and scrunched her own, this smile would never fade if he was near and no one was trying to hurt her.

She kissed him back and he deepened it putting all of his passion into this kiss as he held her tight to his chest around her waist. When she pulled away he was breathless and he listened to her say she was lucky. He looked into her eyes and tilted his head as he smiled,"No, I'm the lucky one," he corrected her as he slowly let go of her waist and he splashed her abit playfully. His eyes glanced up at the sky, the clouds were turning grey and rolling in. He bit his bottom lip and almost as soon as he thought about rain, the clouds burst with water, pouring over them. He chuckled and shook his head abit,"Well this is just great," he said sarcastically as he reached for her hand and pulled her toward him again, the water pouring over his bare chest and over her exposed body.

He ruffled his hair and held her hand in his before leading her back to the shoreline around the lake. He let his feet hit the sand and as soon as they did, he grabbed her clothes and his own and ran with her back to the car. He opened her door for her and closed it once she got in before he went to the driver side and slid in. He tossed the wet clothes into the backseat and grabbed a jersey from his duffel bag handing it to her,"Put it on we don't want you getting sick now do we?" he asked with a grin as he glanced around the car before turning on his heater.

Katie's eyes got wide and she smiled fully when he said he was lucky, then her eyes rolled to the back of her head. "Fine we're the lucky couple." She bargained pecking him once more and she felt the cold rain on her her and she looked up, she was pulled to her feet and she walked up to the shore hand in hand with Ryder. She bent down grabbing her clothes looking back at the water once more and she smiled. "Just capturing a perfect moment." She admitted, she always wanted to remember that kiss with Ryder as if it was her first and lost. The rain dropped caused the water to ripple and she turned around walked with Ryder to the car, her hair was wet and she got into the car. Her red hair, had become wavy and crimpy due to the rain and she reached into her bag pulling out her brush, making herself look presentable.

His jersey Katie smiled then bit her bottom lip, her wet bra and panties sticking to her petite build. "Yes, I don't want to get sick, because then I wouldn't get to kiss you and spend time with you." She teased and climbed to the back seat of his car. "Don't look Ry." She said looking around the parking lot. There were no other cars, they probably scrammed because of the rain. Katie faced the back of the car and reached behind herself unsnapping her wet bra, she slid on his jersey and reached down sliding out of her wet panties. His jersey would cover her until she got home. Katie packed all her wet clothes in her bag then climbed back over the seat fixing his jersey so it covered her to her thighs. "Wow your letters jacket and your jersey I must be special." Katie teased boasting her ego a bit. She was kind of down on herself and now Ryder made her feel like it was alright to be who she was. "My parents and little sister are going to be out til all hours of the night, my sister has a big cello solo at symphony hall." Katie hinted she slid her free hand into Ryder's and moved over kissing his cheek and let her lips brush against his ear as she whispered. "We can cook something for dinner, watch a movie, cuddle and get to know each other on a more personal level." Katie said nibbling on his ear lobe a little. Katie wasn't that great with this whole girlfriend thing, but she did know how to make a boy happy at least she thought, no matter what way he took her comment. She smiled and kissed his cheek again then got back into her seat wondering what he would think, and take her words as.

When she told him not to look he nodded and turned the radio on at a low volume as he started the car just slightly and he glanced in his rearview mirror sneaking a peek before looking away with a smirk. She crawled into the passenger seat again and at her mention of being home alone and food and a movie, and personal level getting to know one another, he raised an eyebrow as his usual thoughts crossed his mind about that stream of events.

But he was forced to push that thought aside and remind himself this would be something he would take slowly, she did just get out of a relationship after all. "Yeah that sounds nice, do we need to pick anything up from the store on the way? i can run in," he said as he pulled out and headed back toward town. He listened to the music for a moment and nodded his head in rythm with it before he reached over and took her hand in his as he drove. she had mentioned they didn't need anything so he headed right for her house. He pulled into the driveway and he hurriedly got out after cutting the engine and he opened the door for her and took his bag and her own and rushed with her to the door. Once she opened it, he stepped inside and dropped her bag and his on the floor,"Bathroom? I should dry off and throw on some pants ya know?" he said smiling at her.

Katie smiled and listened to the music looking over at his every now and then when he began to drive. "I have some stuff we can cook no need for the store." Katie said, she brought her thumb to her mouth and bit her nail a bit. She wasn't quite sure what she was doing taking a boy to her house, but after the last few days she just wanted time with him alone, with no one around she hope he didn't think badly of her, but somewhere she knew he didn't. Katie watched as they pulled into the drive way and she got out of the car walking to the door sliding the key into the hole. When he suggested getting dressed she looked over his body one more time biting her bottom lip. No you don't have to put pants on sexy Katie thought with a smirk before snapping herself out of her girlish thoughts. She closed the door locking it then took his hand and walked to the main floor bathroom turning the light on. "Do as you wish, can even shower if you'd like, get the icky pond water off of you." Katie said getting on her tippy toes kissing his lips once more before he went in. She walked up the stairs quickly and went to the other bathroom turning on the water and placing his jersey on the toilet seat. She hopped in washing her body of the pond water and her hair of rain. Katie hurried and jumped out of the shower. She grabbed Ryder's jersey running to her room with her towel around her tiny figure. Katie put on some panties, with mini shorts, then topped it off with his jersey. She brushed her hair and then ran down the stairs. Luckily he was still in the bathroom.

Katie walked over to the fridge and grabbed the steaks, a head of lettuce a pack of cherry tomatoes and a cucumber. She set the food on the table then walked over to the cabinet grabbing a large bowel, and a small one. Then went to the silverware drawer grabbing a knife. Katie walked over to the table and peeled the cucumber and cut it up tossing it into the large bowel, she then tossed a handful tomatoes in then ripped up the lettuce tossing it around and bringing it to the fridge. Katie walked over to the steak and opened it cutting it into slivers after washing it. She walked over to the cabinet looking for a couple cups and saw them. Her eyes locked on her mothers Oxys and she bit her bottom lip staring at the pill bottle, thinking about way earlier in the day and how hurt she was then she heard the bathroom door open she jumped and turned around fast. "Ryder! Steak tips, pan fries and salad how does that sound?" She said nervously as if she had been caught. She walked over to him and smiled trying to act nonchalant. Katie bit her bottom lip turning around seeing the open cabenit she sighed and walked over closing it, then went to the fridge and grabbed the potatoes. She walked over to the sink and began to peel them. "You can help if you'd like." Katie said looking down her hair toppling into her face a bit ashamed.

A shower actually sounded nice so at her directions to the bathroom he nodded and kissed her cheek quickly before heading down the hall. As he made his way to the bathroom, his eyes scanned across all of the pictures on the walls, family photos, school pictures of Katie and Maya. He grinned to himself as he practically was watching Katie age as he walked down the hall. When he reached the bathroom he opened the door, turned the light on and grabbed a towel. He stripped down leaving the door open a crack in case she needed him and he ran hot water. He got into the shower allowing the water to pour over his muscular build and relax him from the earlier stresses of the day, but hey he won the girl right? He got cleaned up before stepping out and drying off and grabbing another towel, he wrapped it around his waist and walked right out of the bathroom like that, he didn't care if her little sister were home or not. He entered the kitchen and stood behind her for a moment just watching her, her grace making him breathless as he ruffled his hair,"I'd love to help hun, but any chance you have a change of dry clothes somewhere I could slip into?" he asked raising an eyebrow hoping the answer was yes, because he'd hate to have to put on those wet clothes again.

Katie looked into the sink at the potato peels and looked over her shoulder blushing and biting her bottom lip a bit. She hadn't noticed he was half naked but she couldn't lie she like it, was just distracted in her own guilt. Katie snapped herself from staring and washed her hands drying them. She walked over to him and nodded. "Yes, I have something for you to wear." Katie said sliding her hand into his, she walked the hallway to the stairs walking into her room. Her eyes gazed her trophies and the color purple filled her eyes. "Mmn." She thought walking into her closet letting go of his hand, she looked around scowling at Drew's basketball jersey. She wouldn't dare give that to Ryder she'd rather burn it. Katie walked over to a box and opened it, in there was stuff from her older male cousin that got her into martial arts, there was a clean black t-shirt, and some gray basketball shorts. They looked as if they'd fit Ryder's build perfectly. Katie pushed her hair behind her ears pulling out a unopened package of boxers and nodded. Her and her cousin spent nights together and it may have been a while but he wouldn't be returning for this stuff. Katie gathered the clothes walking out of the closet handing him the stuff and she cleared her throat. "There you go, dry clothes that do not belong to what's his face." Katie said turning around so she wasn't facing him. She wouldn't invade on his changing. The thought crossed her mind though, and she smiled peeking over her shoulder and she couldn't help but to giggle out loud. Pink flushing her cheeks as she waited. When he was done she turned around pink still hinting her freckly cheeks. She walked over and wrapped her arm around his waist reaching up running her fingers through his wet hair giving it a spiked effect. Katie bit her bottom lip looking up into his eyes. "Now for that dinner handsome." Katie said walking with her arm around his waist leaning on him a bit.

She walked down the stairs into the kitchen and started to peel the potatoes again. When they were peeled she walked over to the stove grabbing the boiling pot filling it with water. She put the potatoes in and turned the flame on high. Katie walked over to the steak washing the meat before seasoning it. She wouldn't make Ryder cook, she knew how men loved their food cooked for them, plus she was an independent chef from cooking for her handicapped mother for so long. Katie popped the steaks into the broiler and walked over to Ryder looking up. "I'll do the cooking, you can help with desert." She said scrunching her nose a bit. Katie set the timer on the oven, the food would take a bit to cook, so she decided to lead him into the living room dimming the lights. She grabbed the t.v remote and sat down on the couch patting the stop beside her with a smile. "You have anything in particular you want to talk about?" Katie said she'd avoid the movie til they were actually eating.

He followed her in his own reluctance and as she walked he looked her over as he licked his lips and when she dug through her things he looked around but he reflexively caught the clothes when given to him and he watched her turn around. He dropped the towel from his waist and he threw the shirt on over his head and the basketball shorts before he turned and he found her arms around him and her fingers in his hair and he looked down at her. He wanted to tell her screw dinner, but instead he lifted her chin with his fingertips and he brought his lips to her's kissing her for a long moment as he dropped his hand from her chin and put his hands on her hips pulling her into him. It ended though, all to soon and soon enough they were heading into the kitchen and she was telling him how this would work but then they headed for the living room and he sat on the couch and casually put his arm around her shoulders as she flipped through the channels and at her question he shrugged,"No need to talk gorgeous, just sit there and look beautiful while I admire your beauty"he said softly and he reached taking the remote from her hand before he turned her to face him and he kissed her once more. he couldn't keep himself away from her any longer, he needed her, he wanted her, she was everything in a girl he could ever dream of. He ran one hand along her side and he allowed his tongue to dance with her's as he lowered her down to a laying position and he towered over her allowing his hands to roam her curves before he pulled his face from her's,"Sorry...I just couldn't help myself" he whispered.
